We just had the most amazing experience. We have been meeting with one of our young single adults, I may have mentioned him before. Marcus is a RM that we started working with back in 2010. He is the most amazing young man. We took him out to lunch last year and he touched me with his strong spirit as he bore his testimony of the gospel and his love of the Savior, and told us about his mission. He was inactive at the time and in a bad place in his life. So we have been visiting him and spending more. time with him this last few months. He is a gun "nut" and we had kind of hit a lull in his progression in activity, he had stopped coming to church consistently. My Brother Scott Stone is a gun "NUT" and he and his wife were coming to visit us so I invited Marcus to go shooting with all of us and he and my brother are like two peas in a pod. Elder Wall and I go shooting with Marcus every Friday afternoon. Marcus goes to nursing school an accelerated program and has little time with all his studying and practicum. Well today after shooting we sat and talked to Marcus for about a hour outside his home in our car. He bore his testimony of how hard he has been working at getting his life in order and that this Sunday he is being given a call in the ward and soon will have his Temple Rec. back. He talked about a very special spiritual experience he had on his mission with the healing power of the Priesthood, and the reality of our Savior. He then told us how important we have been in his healing, and reactivation and how when we called him for lunch a year ago he had hit bottom and didn't know where to turn and was praying for help. He talked about how pride is the root of all sin as that if you try and direct your life thinking you know best what you can and should do or tweak it in a direction away from Heavenly Fathers plan you don't even know what is happening until you find yourself in "the Bear trap" He was in that trap when we met him. I personally have been wondering if we have really fulfilled our callings here a missionaries and he said" I want you to know if you wonder about your mission, even if I am the only one you have helped, to me you have changed my life and brought me back to our Savior and that has meant everything to me . It was if the Lord was answering my doubts and questions. Marcus is doing great and we are planning on going to the temple with him as soon as he gets his recommend back. That will be a crowning achievement for him and we are well pleased with his progress. We are going to go to his ward sacrament meeting this sunday so that we can raise our hands to the square and sustain him in his new calling. When Forest Gump says" we were like peas and carrots me and Jenny" Elder Wall and I are just the opposite of that statement but because we both love the gospel and our Savior we have been able to be effective missionaries here in Arkansas. What a miracle the gospel is.

Stormy Weather

We have had a week of bad weather. Every day there are storms, tornados, lightning, and lots of rain. The lake behind the apartment is super full. We drove to Russleville yesterday to attend Institute, it was great. There is a small but strong group of youth attending college there and we had a great class. It was taught by Sis Swallow and she was really great! She is moving to Utah and we will miss her great teaching. Christine and Blake and the grandkids are coming in a few days and we are so excited to have them here. We have planned many adventures with them I just hope the weather gets better. I have been reading my Dad's Nibley books and am on "the Prophetic BOM" I really enjoy all his knowledge but some times my brain feels so full of facts and information I have to take a break or I'll overload. I don't remember all that I read anymore but I figure it is in there at least and sometime in the eternity's it will be there again. I hate not having the brain I used to. Love to All

There is a virus going round

I have committed to blog more often, there is so much I don't put down and It will all just go into that black hole that sucks all my memories and I never seem to be able to find them again. I made Suni (the small person) two dresses and she wore one Sunday to church and received many compliments. I told her her cute figure made the dress cute. I went to the Doctors today because I am coughing and I can't talk. I have laryngitis and bronchitis its a viral thing a will be done in a few days. I have to go on voice rest. I have never really lost my voice before, and it is hard to not talk when that is what I do best. It is Valentine's Day and last night the Sister Missionaries snuck in to our complex and decorated my apartment door and my car. They have way too much time , but it was so fun to be surprised. Elder Wall got me a card and some beautiful roses!! I got him me starting Weight Watchers. I hope it will work this time, I don't get the exercise I used to at home so the weight just keeps inching up until you wake up one morning and there is a lot more of you . Love to all on Valentines Day Sister Wall

Never Give Up

We have one of the most fabulous institute teachers in our stake here. Really ! Every Wed. night I can count on the fact that If we can get them there they will have a memorable spiritual experience. and every student feels the love the Goddard's have for them. We are so fortunate to have them.

We have made 11 visits to one of our young adults, and maybe met with him 3-4 times for short visits. We asked him out to lunch before Christmas and he said yes after finals. When we would call back we couldn't get a hold of him. Where he worked he didn't work there anymore. We felt we were being dodged. Elder Wall was especially sad because he felt strongly about this young man. Remember the"goose attack" that was the young mans home, since then they had a special connection. Well this week I said try one more time and he did and we got a lunch date. Wow What a wonderful young man we took to lunch. He has a strong testimony and recognizes the importance of the holy ghost in our lives. He said our call was an answer to his prayer. Did I tell you how much I love this work! We are looking forward to many more lunches with him and spending time feeling of his great spirit.

I took pictures tonight of Suni she is going to BYU Idaho soon and I wanted to get her picture before she leaves. Suni is from Thailand and she was taken to an orphanage when she was a baby. At age 9-10 she was adopted by an American family and brought to the United States. She has several bone issues and has required many surgeries through out her life. But what I love about Suni is her strong fiery spirit. She can hold her own in a crowd and she lets you know if you are doing things that are patronizing or rude because of her size. Like she hates it when people pat her on the head, She says she is not a dog and what do you want next to give her a doggie biscuit. We just love her and she is a great ward missionary. When we talk with her we kneel down so that we are on the same level with her. This is us with Suni.

Also I've added a picture of our man Tony. We have been spending a lot of time with Tony helping him get employed and to all his meetings. Does he not have the sweetest smile. Love to all from Frigid Arkansas I thought the south was warm. 9 degrees burrrr
